Sakshi Jain is an Indian illustrator and animator based in New York. She graduated from School of Visual Arts’ MFA in Computer Arts department this May. Landscapes, shadows and abstractions in daily life plays a big role in her work. She enjoys making handcrafted moving imagery and finds satisfaction in delicate but raw visuals. Working with lines in harmony with color and thoughtful use of space, she communicate complex ideas clearly providing vibrant visuals.
Recently, she worked with Parley for the Oceans creating animations for educational videos. She has made 2D and 3D animations for Tony Oursler Studio. As an Audio Visual Lab Assistant at SVA, she documented art exhibitions, filmed interviews with artists, edited videos and maintained AV labs. Created illustrations for children’s magazine - Bachchon ka Desh and Neev. She has designed posters, zines, GIF stickers, caricatures and created multiple short animations for non-profit organizations, startups, and theatre clients. She has also volunteered with non-profit organizations conducting animation workshops for children at Anuvrat Vishwa Bharti and has worked as an event photographer for Baal Sambal. Her work has been part of exhibitions in New York, New Delhi, Pune and Jaipur. She is currently open for commissions or collaborations.
